Service Pak 519 June 2002K===========================================================================FNOTE: Service Paks 1 through 4a are not required if you are installingEService Pak 5, because Service Pak 5 also includes all of the updates'contained in the previous Service Paks.IFollowing are the changes included in the Service Pak since the WEBES kitEwas released. Each Service Pak is cumulative and contains all changesBincluded in all prior Service Paks for the same WEBES kit release.0*** Changes from WEBES Common Components 4.0 *** === Service Pak 1 ===F o Fixed the dumping of the Console resource subpacket at the end of" GSxx FRU configuration trees.I o Made install scripts more robust, no longer dependent on root user's PATH variable. === Service Pak 2 ===) o Upgraded DSNLink support as follows:4 Tru64 UNIX: support for DSNLink V2.3E and V3.0.1 OpenVMS: support for DSNLink V2.2E and V3.0.D Both encrypting and non-encrypting versions of DSNLink V3.0 areG supported. No Windows changes have been made, only DSNLink V2.2 is supported.: o More robust process management and shutdown handling.H o Removed display of debug messages during analysis of a set of input! files (affects CA and CCAT).F o Added explicit paths to all commands in install shell scripts, to7 accommodate users with different values for $PATH.F o Now prevents possible interference with system CLASSPATH logical. === Service Pak 3 ===3 o Cluster member IDs are now detected correctly.B o Tru64 UNIX: Director run states are now detected correctly by webes_install_update.? o Tru64 UNIX: Old "man" pages left by previous kits deleted.G o Tru64 UNIX: Machines with large swap partitions handled correctly.5 o "desta status" command now returns status codes: 99 => unknown state! 1 => Director is not runningE 9 => Director status file says it's running, but the PID was not
found 3 => Director is running! 5 => Director is starting up# 7 => Director is shutting downH o Tru64 UNIX and OpenVMS: Added "desta priority [ compete | low ]" toJ allow the Director's priority to be changed to normal or low priority while running.C o Fixed ClassNotFoundExceptions in Notification services, and in0 certain default directory cases on OpenVMS.1 o Fixed incorrect reporting of services dying.H o OpenVMS: Handles system-defined DECC logicals which could interfere with WEBES. === Service Pak 4 ===E o Removed arbitrary UNIX limit on Director process's memory usage,D allowing it to use more when needed, solving some out-of-memory' errors analyzing large event logs.G o Added a new undocumented command "desta sysinfo" to collect systemA information to supply to Compaq WEBES support when reporting problems.D o Subject line in SMTP email notifications of CA and CCAT ProblemJ Reports now contains the subject correctly (was blank in many cases).6 === Service Pak 4a === (released for OpenVMS only)F o The Java Runtime Environment embedded in WEBES was upgraded from I version 1.2.2 to 1.3.1. The JRE in WEBES is independent of, and doesI not affect, any Java development kit product (JDK or SDK) installed G on the VMS system. Upgrading the JRE fixed cases found during SP4 G testing where event floods crashed the Director process. An event < flood occurs when binary events are written to the fileJ SYS$ERRORLOG:ERRLOG.SYS at a rate greater than one every few seconds.H Compaq Analyze monitors this log and processes events added to this log as they occur. F o The Java file open mode was changed from 2 (the mode used in SP4)E to 3 (the mode used in SP3 and earlier). While mode 2 fixed the H above event floods, it caused errors in other file write operationsF and caused errors in RCM outputs. Upgrading the JRE was found to G be an equivalent fix for the event flood problem and did not cause the errors found in RCM.$ === Service Pak 5: No Changes ==='*** Changes from Compaq Analyze 4.0 *** === Service Pak 1 ===4 o Analysis rules updates for the TS202c platform.0 o Official new platform support version.9 o Support added for environmental related errors.. o Updated memory isolation algorithms.2 o Analysis rules updates for the ES45 platform.5 o Bit-to-text updates for all supported platforms.H o Fixed the erroneous reporting of corruption on Windows binary event file headers.F o Event filters now handle empty date and computer name fields, and& handle other empty fields better.1 o VMS counted strings in events now supported.H o Fixed handling of event dates and times on international platforms.E o Fixed incorrect reporting of Common Event Headers when a Storage% Event Header is being processed.F o Fixed bug in common syntax two where 'inp dir/*.*' caused invalid1 command error with second file in directory.< o Documentation updates for Release Notes and User Guide.I o CA commands default to operating on SYS$ERRORLOG:ERRLOG.SYS, instead& of SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSERR]ERRLOG.SYS === Service Pak 2 ===G o Now provides GS80/GS160/GS320 translation and analysis support via: the SMC Console for SMC ConsoleWorks V3.0 and higher.2 o Analysis rules updates for the ES40 platform.F o Fixed config tree bugs, including wrong part numbers, serial8 numbers, and not finding config tree FRU info.J o Multiple callouts were confusing on double bit errors. Fixed a bug inF the rules for handling a double error halt (console data logH event) and added additional multi-event correlation for double bit errors.2 o Analysis rules updates for the ES45 platform.2 o Fixed bugs related to DIMM FRU callouts.I o Added API indictment for CPU FRU callouts and PFN page mapouts.3 o Analysis rules updates for the GSxx platforms. o Added EV68 support.0 o Added special error case enhancements.: o Updated callout reports based on field feedback.! o Fixed dir-dimm callout.J o Changes in PCA area when collected data is incomplete/incorrect.F o Firmware has a problem collecting the correct data on an HPME environmental event.
