CashBack ((c)) 1998,1999 Jur van der Burg

New features in V2.0:

o Multiple monitors are now supported, provided that the adapters
are from Matrox. A future version will lift this restriction.

o At the start of CashBack another screensaver may run first for
a specified time. After that CashBack will kick in and switch
the monitor to a power saving state.

o Adapters generating errors may still function correctly, now
there's a setting to suppress these errors.

o CashBack may announce itself at startup with a dialog box
   and/or a sound.

Licenses for V1.0 and V1.1 are remain valid for V2.0.

This program can be used to use the power-saving features of a
DPMS (Display Power Management System) monitor. A check is done
at the start of the program to find out which DPMS features are
supported by your video adapter. Only the options supported by
the adapter can be set, unless you override this check with a
checkbox at the 'Adapter' page.

The following settings are possible:

Configuration Page:

 'Start CashBack before logon':

If checked CashBack will be started before anyone logged on to
the system. The time after which this happens can be specified
in minutes.

 'Mouse Sensitivity':

This parameter is the number of pixels that the mouse has to
move before the screensaver stops. This can make the program
less sensitive for small mouse movements.

There are four possible conditions to start the screensaver as
shown in the 'On Activation' box.

 'Start Other Screensaver':

If checked another screensaver will run before CashBack, it can
be selected with the selection box. It will be stopped when the
next screen saving mode (Standby, Suspend of Off) starts. If the
other screensaver is interrupted and stops, CashBack will stop
too.

 'Enter Standby':

If checked the Standby mode of the monitor will be entered as
soon as the screensaver is started (only if no other screensaver
is selected).

 'Enter Suspend':

If checked the Suspend mode of the monitor will be entered as
soon as the specified time has expired. If the standby mode is
not checked the time cannot be specified as the suspend mode
will be entered at screensaver startup.

 'Enter Power Off':

If checked the Off mode of the monitor will be entered as soon
as the specified time has expired. If the standby mode or suspend
mode are not checked the time cannot be specified as the Off mode
will be entered at screensaver startup.

Notice that the time specified for Suspend must be less than the
time specified for the Off mode vice versa. Also, the time for
Standby must be less than the time for Suspend. At least one of
the different modes has to be selected.

'Announce startup with message for xxx seconds'

If checked a pop-up screen will announce the startup of CashBack,
and it will remain active for the specified time. Hitting any key
or clicking any mouse button will abort the screensaver.

'Beep at Startup'

If checked the system will beep or play the 'Exclamation' sound
at the time the monitor enters a power-down state.

'Play Sound at Startup'

If checked the system will play a user-selected sound at the time
the monitor enters a power-down state.

Adapter page:

This page shows the options, which are supported by your video
adapter, as well as its VESA support version numbers.

 'Override reported adapter capabilities'

If checked you may override the capacities reported by the adapter,
for example if it does not report any DPMS functions.

 'Ignore errors returned by adapter'

If for some reason your adapter returns an error but appears to
work normal you can disable the error message with this checkbox.

 'Use Matrox multi monitor support'

If you have one or more Matrox video cards in your system you can
enable this checkbox to let CashBack work with multiple monitors.
Note however that multiple monitor support will ONLY work for
Matrox display adapters with Matrox supplied drivers. A future
version will take care of other adapters. This checkbox is always
set on Windows2000 as we only support Matrox adapters on that
version..
