Remote Java Compile, Build, Execute, and Debug

You can compile, build, execute, or debug Java programs and Jar files locally on your desktop system or remotely on your OpenVMS system.

To compile, build, execute, or debug your Java program or Jar file locally or on a remote OpenVMS system

1.  In the NetBeans IDE, click on the Filesystems tab.

2.  Right click on a Java source file with a Java icon next to it.  (Or right click while your cursor is in the editor window for your Java source file.)

- For remote commands, choose Remote Compile, Remote Execute, Remote Build, or Remote Debug. You also can use the remote operations toolbar.

- For local commands, choose Compile, Build, or Execute. You can also use the regular local toolbar.

- The remote toolbar is grayed-out when you are editing or pointing to a file on your local desktop system. It is located just above the Editing, GUI Editing, and Debugging tabs, but you can move it to another location by dragging it.

Note  You can set options for remote commands. See Remote Options.
By default, compiler settings are copied from the local system to the remote system. You can change this value by changing the Local Settings property to False.
