Features and Problems Corrected in Version 3.016------------------------------------------------------G This section describes product features. It also describes problemsI that have been corrected in this release of the Management Agents for OpenVMS. ? - Support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Certificates	E	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents for OpenVMS provides a Secure C	HTTP server that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security for all >	communication between the OpenVMS server and web browser. By C	default, a self-signed certificate is generated, but for increasedO security, this can be replaced by a certificate signed by a CertificateM Authority. Refer to Section 3 of the User Guide for more information.C Note that as a result of this change, the URL to access the= Device Home Page on your OpenVMS system is changed to https://host:2381.3 - OpenVMS Account Login and OS AuthenticationD	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents for OpenVMS uses OpenVMS userI accounts for login security instead of the built-in accounts usedJ in previous versions. The user name and password are authenticatedJ against the OpenVMS account database, which increases the security? of the system. Anonymous access is disabled by default.E OpenVMS accounts are mapped to the Management Agents internalC "administrator" and "operator" accounts. The OpenVMS systemC administrator maps users to one of these accounts using theN WBEM$ADMIN and WBEM$OPERATOR rights identifiers. Refer to Section 3.1,I "Introduction to Using the Secure HTTP Server for OpenVMS" in the$ User Guide for more details., -	Additional CPU Utilization ThresholdsA	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents for OpenVMS allows you to F	define thresholds on CPU utilization for time intervals of 1 minute, E	5 minutes, 30 minutes and 1 hour. If the CPU utilization for a time G	interval exceeds the threshold, an SNMP trap is generated. Thresholds (	can be defined separately for each CPU.% -	Support for Falling ThresholdsD	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents for OpenVMS supports falling >	thresholds for File System utilization, CPU utilization, and E	Physical Memory utilization. Select the "Enable Falling Thresholds" G	option on the page displaying File System, CPU utilization, and MemoryN utilization data to enable falling thresholds for that page. When thisN option is enabled, SNMP traps are generated when the utilization drops3 below the critical and warning thresholds. H	Note: Falling thresholds cannot be enabled or disabled selectively for H	individual disks and CPUs. The selection affects all thresholds on the corresponding page./ -	Location of Temperature Sensors and Fans@	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents displays the location of G	temperature sensors and fans on GS80, GS160, GS320 and later systems. A	Note: Refer to the Installation Guide for the prerequisites for 9	viewing environmental details on GS80 and later systems. -	Support for HP OpenViewC	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents allows OpenVMS systems to beE managed from HP OpenView Network Node Manager (NNM) using theH Insight Manager 7 plug-in. The following functions are available through NNM:E	o NNM recognizes OpenVMS systems and displays an appropriate icon on the network map. C	o NNM recognizes SNMP traps generated by the Management Agents for OpenVMS.=	o The Device Home Page on an OpenVMS system can be launched ) using the Web Enabled link from NNM.>	o The color of the icon in the OpenView Network Node Manager C reflects the overall system status similar to Insight Manager 7.

Clicking on eachE individual process hyperlink provides more9 information about the process.? SHOW DEVICE	- Displays information about all the Disk 4 Devices, Ethernet Devices, Tapes & Mailboxes, 1 BG/TCP/IP Mailboxes & Channels, DECWindows 2 Input Devices and DECWindows Pseudo Devices.H -	Web pages updated to Version 5.5 of the Insight Manager web pages<	The Management Agents for OpenVMS have been updated to use 5 Version 5.5 of the Insight Manager web pages.G -	Defining logical names used by the Management Agents for OpenVMS7	Version 3.01 of the Management Agents uses the file @	SYS$MANAGER: WBEM$LOGICALS.COM to define all the logical names C	used by the Management Agents for OpenVMS. This file lists all theJ logical names supported by the agents, but the lines are commentedJ out by default. Using a text editor, open this file, uncomment theE lines containing the logical names you require, and edit the B	parameters if required. This file includes comments that explain '	the significance of each logical name.H The startup procedure runs this file to define the logical namesJ required by the Management Agents. These logical names are deleted& during the shutdown procedure. -	Problems Corrected= o Processing HTTP POST request takes indefinite time. I o Selection of option "Synchronize thresholds for all volumes" to E set thresholds for multiple CPUs or disks takes indefinite time on TCPware and Multinet stacks.K o Management agents do not authenticate password containing special characters like $,_.K o Accessing agents through browser results in blank page. The login # screen is never displayed.K o Accessing 'HP Insight Management agents for OpenVMS' icon results * in HTTP 404 Page Not Found error.Q o OpenVMS DCL SHOW Commands 'ALL DISK DEVICE' link lists only DK devices. 2. Operation Notes------------------- Version Limits: N Please note that the Management Agents for OpenVMS places a version limit 3 of four on files in the following directories: [WBEM.WEB.IM], [WBEM.WEB.IM.WEBAGENT.TEMP] (3.
