All rights reserved. 1 The Installation Guide contains a number of figures that are no longer correct: o The Installation Guide states that BEFORE you install WPS- PLUS software on the system disk, you must have 27,000 free blocks available on this disk. This is incorrect. The up-to-date figures are 28,000 free blocks needed BEFORE installation on the system disk. o The Installation Guide states that AFTER installation, WPS- PLUS software uses 22,000 blocks on the system disk. This is incorrect. The up-to-date figures are that AFTER installation, WPS-PLUS software uses 23,000 blocks on the system disk. o The Installation Guide states that BEFORE you install WPS- PLUS software on an alternate disk, you must have 16,000 free blocks available on the alternate disk. This is incorrect. The up-to-date figures are 20,500 free blocks needed BEFORE installation on the alternate disk. o The Installation Guide states that AFTER installation, WPS- PLUS software uses 6,000 blocks on the system disk and 16,000 blocks on the alternate disk. This is incorrect. The up-to-date figures are that AFTER installation, WPS-PLUS software uses 4,000 blocks on the system disk and 20,500 blocks on the alternate disk. o This Installation Guide states that the linguistic components of WPS-PLUS software require an additional 1,200 blocks on the disk you install them on. This is incorrect. The up-to-date figure are the linguistic components of WPS-PLUS software require an additional 1,500 blocks on the disk you install them on. 2 Installation Verification Procedure (IVP) The following text replaces the contents of paragraph 4.1 (Run- ning the Installation Verification Procedure) in Installation Guide: You must complete all the required post-installation procedures in Chapter 3 before running the IVP. To run the IVP separately from the installation procedure, invoke either of the following command procedures from the system manager's account using a WPS-PLUS supported terminal: o To run both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the IVP, enter the fol- lowing command, substituting the installed language name for language: $ @SYS$TEST:WPLlanguage$IVP The IVP procedure will display the following messages: Executing IVP's for: WPS-PLUS for VMS V4.0 Beginning first phase of tests... If the first phase has been successful, the IVP will continue the second phase by displaying the following message: Beginning second phase of tests... then continue displaying the messages from Phase 2, as speci- fied in the next paragraph. o To run only Phase 2 of the IVP, enter the following command substituting the installed language name for language: $ @WPSPLUS$SYSTEM:WPLIVP language If the installed language is omitted, the IVP asks the fol- lowing: Do you wish to test your default 'language' WPS-PLUS system [YES]? 3 If you respond YES, the default language system is tested. If you respond NO, the IVP asks which language you wish to test: Which WPS-PLUS optional language system do you want to test?: Phase 2 of the IVP takes approximately 15 minutes and the following messages are displayed: Creating a WPS-PLUS directory... Creating REQUIRED subdirectories... Creating REQUIRED default .DAT files... Creating REQUIRED user profile... Set-up completerd for user: SYS$SYSROOT:[SYSTEST] The following message is displayed when Phase 2 of the IVP is successful: PHASE 2 for WPS-PLUS for VMS, Version 4.0, IVP completed successfully!! To change the default settings, the user must return to DCL level and invoke WPSPLUS/LOGIN. The user can then enter new settings.
