                                DIGITAL                [TM]                                           MAILbus 4002                      Application Program Interface:                      -------------------------------------:                      Installing on an OpenVMS Alpha System    =                      Revision/Update Information: Version 2.0     @                      This card contains the information you needC                      to install the MAILbus 400 Application Program @                      Interface (API) on an OpenVMS Alpha system.                              .                      Order Number: AV-QEFYB-TE                       Installation Prerequisites   =            Before you install the MAILbus 400[TM] API, do the             following:   @            o  Ensure the following software is installed on your               system:   D               -  OpenVMS[TM] Alpha Version 6.1, or later, or OpenVMS-                  Alpha Version 7.0, or later.   D               -  DECnet[TM]/OSI[R] for OpenVMS Alpha, Version 6.3 or1                  later, or Version 7.0, or later.   ;            o  Ensure you have access to the SYSTEM account.   E            o  Ensure no one is using the system where you install the                API.  ?            o  Back up your system disk using the OpenVMS Backup                utility.  D            o  Register a valid API license, MAILBUS-400-API. Use theC               OpenVMS License Management Facility (LMF) to do this. D               You cannot install the MAILbus 400 API unless you have)               registered a valid license.   D            o  Stop any MAILbus 400 API applications that are running               on your system.   >            See the OpenVMS system management documentation for?            information about the OpenVMS Backup utility and the /            OpenVMS License Management Facility.         Information Required   D            To install the MAILbus 400 API, you need to know the name@            of the device from which the installation kit will be            loaded.        Time Required  ;            The time it takes to install the MAILbus 400 API A            depends on the resources available on your system. The A            installation takes approximately 1 minute on a DEC[TM]             2000 Model 300.        2                          Disk Space Required   G               The MAILbus 400 API requires approximately 4600 blocks of E               free disk space during installation, and 4300 blocks on 1               the SYSTEM disk after installation.   &         Installing the MAILbus 400 API  D               From the SYSTEM account on the node, or cluster, whereC               you want to install the MAILbus 400 API, complete the                following steps:  -               1. Mount the CD-ROM as follows:   0                  MOUNT device-name: volume-label  G                  where device-name and volume-label are as specified in G                  the OpenVMS Alpha Layered Products Compact Disk User's F                  Guide. The API files are located on the CD-ROM in the(                  directory named MTA020.  =               2. Install the API using the following command:   L                  @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL MTA020 device-name:[MTA020] OPTIONS N  B               The installation procedure starts and prompts you toH               select the components you want to install. Select both theE               MAILbus 400 API and the MAILbus 400 MTA Base component.            After the Installation  F               Depending on the subsets you have installed, the MAILbusB               400 API installation might have superseded the files(               MTA$CLIENT_STARTUP.COM andD               MTA$CREATE_CLIENT_CLNS_TEMPLATE.NCL.
