             Before You Install VAX ACMS Version 3.2: ADDENDUM

          1. If you are installing either an ACMS Version 3.2 Devel-
             opment or Run-Time-Only kit for the first time on a sys-
             tem with CDD/Plus already installed, you must manually
             create a CDD/Plus directory for ACMS before you start
             the installation procedure.

             To manually create the CDD/Plus directory for ACMS, log
             into the SYSTEM account, invoke the DMU utility, and cre-
             ate the directory as follows:

                  $ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:DMU <Return>
                  DMU> CREATE/AUDIT CDD$TOP.ACMS$DIR <Return>

             If you do not manually create this CDD/Plus directory,
             then the installation procedure will fail with the fol-
             lowing error:

                  -CDD-E-NODNOTFND, directory or object not found

          2. ACMS Version 3.2 requires VMS DECdtm transaction ser-
             vices Version 1.1-2 or higher. Because the required ver-
             sion of VMS DECdtm transaction services may not be in-
             cluded in your existing VMS kit, the ACMS Version 3.2
             installation procedure installs the correct version of
             VMS DECdtm transaction services when you install ACMS.

                                       (continued on other side)

             If you upgrade VMS after installing ACMS Version 3.2,
             you may need to re-install ACMS Version 3.2 to obtain
             the correct version of the VMS DECdtm transaction ser-
             vices. To determine if you need to re-install ACMS Ver-
             sion 3.2 after upgrading VMS, log into the SYSTEM ac-
             count and obtain the version of the VMS DECdtm trans-
             action services by entering:

                  $ ANALYZE/IMAGE SYS$LOADABLE_IMAGES:SYS$TRANSACTION_SERVICES <Return>

             The version of the VMS DECdtm transaction services is
             displayed in the "Image Identification Information" sec-
             tion, as follows:

                  Image Identification Information
                          image name: "SYS$TRANSACTION_SERVICES"
                          image file identification: "DECDTM V1.1-2"
                     .
