ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS is an electronic messaging application
that conforms to the international messaging standards set by
the CCITT X.400 recommendations. This means ALL-IN-1 MAIL allows
you to communicate with other computer users, even when your
computer systems are made by different manufacturers or are
otherwise incompatible, and even when your computer systems are
          installed in different countries.

Please take time to read the following information about ALL-IN-
          1 MAIL for VMS.

          Installation Information

ALL-IN-1 MAIL Version 1.0 requires VMS Version 5.2.

Installing the ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS Wide Area Network Kit The
following information is important if you are installing the
ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS Wide Area Network kit:

The ALLIN1-MAIL-WAN-SERVER license provides you with the li-
censes for VMS Message Router, the VMS Message Router VMSmail
Gateway, and the VMS Message Router X.400 Gateway. If you have
registered the ALLIN1-MAIL-WAN-SERVER license, the ALL-IN-1 MAIL
for VMS installation will register these other three licenses
automatically. These licenses must be loaded before the MAILbus
products can be installed and configured. In addition, Message
Router must be installed and configured before you can install
ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS. Installing the ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS Wide
Area Network kit is, therefore, a multi-step process that in-
volves two passes through the ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS installation
          process:

o Register the ALLIN1-MAIL-WAN-SERVER license included in your
             kit.

o Use VMSINSTAL to install ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS the first
time, loading the other licenses automatically. This instal-
lation is much simpler than the installation described in the
ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS Installation Guide. It does not require
you to answer any questions; it simply loads the licenses and
exits. The following sample ALLIN1-MAIL-WAN-SERVER Installa-
tion illustrates what you will see during this preliminary
             installation:

Continuing with the ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS installation process:

o Install Message Router, MRGATE, and the Message Router X.400
             Gateway.

o Configure and start up Message Router.

o The system is now ready to install ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS as
described in the ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS Installation Guide.

Informational Message The following informational message was
inadvertently left out of the ALL-IN-1 MAIL for VMS Installation
Guide. It is displayed after the installer inputs the UIC for
          the MUAS$SERVER account:

In order to ensure that the ALL-IN-1 MAIL server runs in the
proper environment, this installation procedure will create
an account for the server. This account, MUAS$SERVER, has no
special privileges and it is not possible to log into this
          account.

You must specify a unique UIC that is not a system UIC for this
account in order to ensure proper security of the network.
The password for this account will be generated. You do not
need to know this password. It has been set as PRE-EXPIRED. If
this scenerio violates your security policies, you may change
it after the installation has finished via the VMS AUTHORIZE
          utility.
