DIGITAL AV-PC1GA-TK Read Before Installing or Using DEC Visual User Interface Tool Version 1.0 Please take time to read the following information about DEC Visual User Interface Tool (DEC VUIT[TM]). Installation Information DEC VUIT is available for both VMS[TM] and ULTRIX[TM] operating systems. The documentation included in your kit applies to both systems. VMS: DEC VUIT Version 1.0 requires VMS Version 5.3 or higher. ULTRIX: DEC VUIT Version 1.0 requires ULTRIX Version 3.1 or higher. Before you install and run DEC VUIT Version 1.0 on a newly-licensed node or cluster, you must first register a License Product Authorization Key (License PAK) using the License Management Facility (LMF). The License PAK may be shipped along with the kit if you ordered the license and media together; otherwise, it is shipped separately to a location based on your license order. If you are installing DEC VUIT as an update on a node or cluster already licensed for this software, you have already completed the License PAK registration requirements. _________________ [TM] DEC VUIT is a trademark of Digital Equipment Corporation. If you experience any of these problems, do one of the following: o Remove the installation (using the commands setld -d VIRVUIT100 and setld -d VIRMAN100) and reinstall DEC VUIT. Unlike the DEC VUIT T1.0 Field Test Kit, the DEC VUIT Version 1.0 kit cleans up directories appropriately. o Prior to installing the DEC VUIT Version 1.0 kit, make sure that the following directories have been deleted: /usr/lib/vuit /usr/examples/vuit /usr/lib/X11/help/vuit Release Notes Information The release notes for DEC VUIT Version 1.0 contain known problems, restrictions, and documentation errors. You can read the release notes before installing DEC VUIT on a VMS system by invoking VMSINSTAL and fol- lowing the instructions that start the installation procedure. Following a VMS installation, to read the release notes enter: $ TYPE/PAGE SYS$HELP:VUIT010.RELEASE_NOTES Page 3 Following an ULTRIX installation, you can print the release notes by entering: # lp /usr/lib/vuit/vuit100.release_notes Contents of This Kit The following list details the contents of this kit: o Indented Bill Report (BIL) and Bill of Materials (BOM) Please read the BIL and BOM enclosed in this kit and check to see that all items listed are actually in your kit.
