A minimum system configuration includes:

oo   One VAXBI-based VAX host system

oo   One KA800-M real-time VAX processor

oo   One RA series disk                  

oo   4 MB VMS host system memory

oo   One TU80, TU81, or TK50

Disk Space Requirements (Block Cluster Size = 1):

Disk space required for installation:
						 5,000 blocks
						 (2.57M bytes)

Disk space required for use (permanent):
						 4,200 blocks
						 (2.15M bytes)

These counts refer to the disk space required on the system disk.  The 
sizes are approximate; actual sizes may vary depending on the user's 
environment, configuration, and software options.

The KA800 can be used to directly control any valid VAXBI adapter except 
the DWBUA.  This can include adapters supplied by vendors who are licensed 
by Digital to produce VAXBI adapters.  If no VAXELN driver is supplied by 
Digital, the customer is responsible for the VAXELN driver used.  The KA800 
can be physically configured with any valid VAXBI adapter in the same 
backplane; except the DWBUA which must be installed on a separate VAXBI 
backplane.  (Exception: In VAX 82xx and 83xx systems the DWBUA and KA800 
can coexist on the same VAXBI backplane).
   
CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT

This layered product is fully supported when installed on any valid and 
licensed VAXcluster* configuration without restrictions.  The HARDWARE 
REQUIREMENTS sections of this product's Software Product Description and 
System Support Addendum detail any special hardware required by this 
product.

*   V5.x VAXcluster configurations are fully described in the VAXcluster 
    Software Product Description (29.78.xx) and include CI, Ethernet, and 
    Mixed Interconnect configurations.

OPTIONAL SOFTWARE

Use of the VAXELN remote debugger and the development of applications on 
the host processor require the VAXELN Toolkit at a minimum of V4.0 to be 
installed on the system.  

Application development is done on a VMS host processor, but the 
application may have code running on both the VMS host processor and the 
VAXELN real-time processor. The following table specifies the supported 
versions of optional software required for each runtime environment.
