         Dear VPA Customer:

         We  are  pleased  to  provide  you with Version 2.1 of the VAX 
         Performance Advisor, VPA.   VPA is  a knowledge-based performance
         management  and capacity planning tool  which  helps  reduce  
	 the  time  and  effort involved in  managing, tuning and planning 
         the growth of  your VAX/VMS systems.

         VPA  can  be used to monitor  daily  performance  and  provide 
	 advice when performance problems arise.   It  will assist  you  
	 in  problem  investigation as well as confirm suspicions which  
	 may have previously been too time consuming to substantiate.

	 VPA also provides useful data for establishing capacity plans
	 to help you predict future resource requirements.  Using 
	 VPA's modeling component, you can perform "what-if" analyses 
         for changes in workload and/or configuration. VPA also provides
	 archiving capabilities for trend analysis.
