AV-MS25A-TE IMPORTANT READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLING VAX TEAMDATA 1 VAX TEAMDATA Documentation Set The VAX TEAMDATA Version 1.3 documentation set contains the following components: o VAX TEAMDATA Quick Reference Guide o Introduction to VAX TEAMDATA o Using VAX TEAMDATA o Update Pages for Using VAX TEAMDATA o VAX TEAMDATA Command Summary o Update Pages for the VAX TEAMDATA Command Summary o VAX TEAMDATA Installation Guide o VAX TEAMDATA Release Notes, provided in online form. All the documentation is provided in English. Note that the documentation set contains some Version 1.2 manuals and some Version 1.3 manuals. Since there were no changes in functionality between VAX TEAMDATA Version 1.2 and Version 1.3, a number of the Version 1.2 manuals were not changed for Version 1.3. 1 2 Special Features of the Danish Version of VAX TEAMDATA The Danish version of VAX TEAMDATA offers a number of special Danish features. These are as follows: o All screen prompts, error messages and Help text appear in Danish. However, commands must be entered in English. o The words JA and NEJ are used to confirm or reject actions, instead of YES or NO. o Month and day names are accepted in Danish (for example in date columns). o When creating or editing command procedure files outside of VAX TEAMDATA, keystroke names can be entered in either Danish or English. Danish keystroke names are WPS-PLUS/ALL-IN-1 compatible. o A number of Danish formatting features are available in tables and spreadsheets. These are used instead of the U.S. formats. You should not try to use it in tables or spreadsheets. __________________________________________________________________ 3 Installing New Versions of VAX TEAMDATA If you currently have a U.S. version of VAX TEAMDATA on your system, you must rename the file TDAMENSHR.EXE contained in the SYS$SYSTEM directory, before installing the Danish version. Do this as follows: 3 $ RENAME TDAMENSHR.EXE TDAMENSHR_US.EXE You need to rename this file so that TEAMDATA does not check its identification number during installation. The identification number of this file is incompatible with the number of the new version of the file that you will be installing. If TEAMDATA finds an existing version of TDAMENSHR.EXE during installation, it compares the identification number of this file with that of the new version that is being installed. If these numbers are incompatible, the installation fails. 4 Space Problem when Installing VAX TEAMDATA If you attempt to install VAX TEAMDATA on a system that does not have sufficient space, the following message may occur: %SET-E-READERR, error reading VMI$ROOT:[sysmsg]rpc$msg.exe SYSTEM-W-ACCONFLICT, file access conflict Check that you have at least 13,000 free blocks (6.5 megabytes) available before installing VAX TEAMDATA. 5 Problem with Global Pages If you start up VAX TEAMDATA by running TDA_STARTUP.COM on a system that does not have sufficient global pages available, the image TDA$MENSHR may not be installed. You will receive no warning message when you run TDA_STARTUP.COM. However you will receive a message such as the following when you attempt to run TEAMDATA: %DCL-W-ACTIMAGE, error activating image TDA$MENSHR 4 If you receive this message, you should do the following: 1. Verify that the problem is caused by insufficient global pages. To do this, enter the SET VERIFY command at DCL level, then run TDA_STARTUP.COM again. Check any error messages carefully. 2. Increase your global pages if necessary. 3. Run TDA_STARTUP.COM again. Refer to the VAX TEAMDATA Installation Guide for information on required global page parameters. 6 Product Authorization Key If you are installing VAX TEAMDATA Version 1.3 on a VMS Version 5.0 system, you will be asked during the installation procedure if you have registered and loaded an Authorization Key for TEAMDATA. Depending on the type of licence that you have purchased, the name on the Product Authorization Key for the Danish version of VAX TEAMDATA is either: o TEAMDATA-UI-DANSK or o TEAMDATA-UI-DANSK-USER. If you have loaded an Authorization Key for either of these two names, you should answer YES to the question. If you answer YES, the installation then proceeds in the usual manner. If you answer NO, you are asked if you wish to continue with the installation. ___________________________ Note ___________________________ The installation procedure always displays the name TEAMDATA-UI-DANSK, irrespective of which type of licence you have purchased. ___________________________________________________________ 5 7 System Support Addendum Please note that the System Support Addendum (SSA) number given in the VAX TEAMDATA Installation Guide is the U.S. number. The correct number for the Danish System Support Addendum is: 25.G4.00-A. 8 VAX TEAMDATA Training Lessons The VAX TEAMDATA training lessons that appear as an option on the Help menus are not supported in this version of VAX TEAMDATA. 9 Online Release Notes You are requested to read the Online Release Notes supplied with the software for further information on new features, restrictions and limitations of this version of VAX TEAMDATA. © Digital Equipment Corporation, 1989.
