          Dear VAX SPM Customer;

          DIGITAL is pleased to announce version 3.4 of the VAX
          Software Performance Monitor (VAX SPM). VAX SPM version
          3.4 is a maintenance release and as such, contains no
          significant new functionality.

          The version 3.4 changes include software fixes to
          correct visible problems and other fixes to increase
          system integrity that are not especially visible to
          users. Most of the changes involved improvements to
          VAX SPM's performance when utilizing many of the new
          features that were provided with the previous version
          (v3.3), especially the Bottleneck Analyzer component.
          With this release, VAX SPM also supports most of our
          newly announced VAX Systems.

          It is important that you take the time to read the VAX
          SPM Installation Guide and VAX SPM Release Notes prior
          to installing and using the new software. Important
          information on using the VAX SPM software is contained
          in these documents as well as descriptions of problems
          resolved by VAX SPM version 3.4.
