          Your DECnet/SNA VMS Remote Job Entry Version 1.4 software and
          user documentation, including installation instructions, are
          included in this package.

          o  The bill of materials specifies the number and contents of
             your distribution kit. Check to see that all items are in
             your kit. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your
             Digital Equipment Corporation representative.

          o  Make sure you have installed Version 5.0 or 5.1 of the VMS
             operating system.

          o  Read DECnet/SNA VMS Remote Job Entry Version 1.4 Installation
             before you install the software.

          Be sure to read the release notes carefully. Included in the
          release notes you will find complete details of the following
          important changes:

          o  The SET WORKSTATION command has a new qualifier, /SERVER,
             which allows you to run RJE through SNARJE$SERVER on a VMS
             node instead of through the RJE server on the Gateway.

          o  The VMS SNARJE$SERVER now supports a maximum RU size of 3840
             for printer and punch streams.

          o  After installation, SYS$LIBRARY contains two new command pro-
             cedures,
             SNARJE$RJESYMBOL.COM and SNARJE$RJSSYMBOL.COM. These com-
             mand procedures contain the symbolic values of the RJE status
             return codes.

          o  RJE V1.4 permits queue names up to 31 characters.

          o  RJE V1.4 supports command line recall.

          o  The SERVER and MPX log file names now have the RJE facility
             code prefix SNARJE$.

          o  SYS$EXAMPLES contains a new command procedure, SNARJE$AUTORJE.COM,
             which provides an example of RJE automation.
