DECrouter 150/250 V1.1 AV#PH0UA#TE May 1991 Dear Customer: This letter contains important information for installing the DECrouterE 250 V1.1. The installation guides for VMSE and ULTRIXE refer to the DECrouter 150/250 Software Product Description. The actual name of this document is the DECrouter 250 Software Product Description. For DECnet#DOS load hosts, install the DECrouter 150/250 kit on a standalone DECnet#DOS node. If your DOS system uses a key diskette to boot off a server on the LAN, use that server (for example, a VMS node), if possible, as the load host instead of your DOS system. The DECrouter 150/250 software documentation instructs DOS load#host users to install the software kit into the default \DECNET directory. For a key diskette this default directory is on the key diskette. Since the DECrouter software kit is composed of multiple diskettes you do not have the capacity on your key diskette to accommodate the full DECrouter software kit. Instead, install the kit into another directory on either a local hard disk or disk on the server. If there is already a \DECNET directory on the disk, install the kit there. To run from a key diskette, both MOP.EXE and ROUCONFG.DAT reside in the default \DECNET directory on the key diskette. After you install the kit, copy MOP.EXE to the default \DECNET directory on the key diskette and run it from there. ROUCONFG.EXE creates the ROUCONFG.DAT file on the key diskette's default \DECNET directory. All the other kit files, as well as the accompanying system images and dump files, can reside where they were installed and the remaining executable files (including ROUCONFG.EXE) can be run from there.
