In addition to the installation disk space requirements, the user should plan for space to accommodate the DECtrace data collection files and formatted data files or database. This additional space is dependent on the amount of information collected and formatted using DECtrace, and will vary from collection to collection. CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT This layered product is fully supported when installed on any valid and licensed VAXcluster* configuration without restric- tions. The HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS sections of this product's Software Product Description and System Support Addendum detail any special hardware required by this product. * V5.x VAXcluster configurations are fully described in the VAXcluster Software Product Description (29.78.xx) and in- clude CI, Ethernet, and Mixed Interconnect configurations. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS 4 DECtrace for VMS, Version 1.1 SSA 25.G1.01-A Certain versions of these products depend upon a specific ver- sion of the operating system. Please refer to the System Support Addendum of the product in question to determine which version is necessary. For Systems Using Terminals (No DECwindows Interface): o VMS Operating System V5.3 - V5.4 o VAX Rdb/VMS V3.1b - V4.0 Runtime License. The Runtime License is required for DECtrace to create and access its administra- tion, history, and formatted databases. Note: The VAX Rdb/VMS Runtime License is included with VMS; the user must order the VAX Rdb/VMS Runtime media to obtain the software. VAX Rdb/VMS V3.1b - V4.0 contain DECtrace service routine calls. The user can collect DECtrace information from VAX Rdb/VMS V3.1 and V4.0. VMS Tailoring For VMS V5.x systems, the following VMS class is required for full functionality of this layered product: o Utilities For more information on VMS classes and tailoring, refer to the VMS Operating System Software Product Description (SPD 25.01.xx). OPTIONAL SOFTWARE Certain versions of these products depend upon a specific ver- sion of the operating system. Please refer to the System Support Addendum of the product in question to determine which version is necessary. o DEC RdbExpert for VMS V1.0. 5 DECtrace for VMS, Version 1.1 SSA 25.G1.01-A DECtrace optionally provides VAX Rdb/VMS and VAX DBMS work- load data for use by DEC RdbExpert. o VAX CDD/Plus V4.3 The DECtrace formatted VAX Rdb/VMS database data definitions can optionally be stored in CDD/Plus. o VAX ACMS V3.1 DECtrace can optionally collect event and performance infor- mation from VAX ACMS applications. o VAX DBMS V4.2 DECtrace can optionally collect event and performance infor- mation from VAX DBMS applications. o DECdecision, VAX RALLY, DATATRIEVE, COBOL, or other 4GL and 3GL software can also be used to access the formatter data for reporting.
