Processor Restrictions

Not all VAX processors are supported by VMS/SNA. Refer to VMS/SNA (SPD 
27.01.xx) for specific requirements. 

The VAX-11/782 processor is not supported by VMS Operating System V5.0 or 
later.

An R80/RL02 configuration is required for the VAX-11/730.

Block Space Requirements (Block Cluster Size = 1):

Disk space required for installation:	 6300 blocks 
					 (3.2256M bytes)

Disk space required for use (permanent): 1350 blocks 
					 (.6912M bytes)

Additional space required with ALL-IN-1: 215 blocks 
					 (.1101M bytes)

These counts refer to the disk space required on the system disk. The sizes 
are approximations; actual sizes may vary depending on the user's system 
environment, configuration and software options selected.

OTHER HARDWARE REQUIRED

Communications subsystem appropriate to the type of DIGITAL networks employed. 
Choose from (A) or (B) below.

Either: 

(A) In a DECnet Ethernet local area network,

    One of the following DECnet/SNA Gateway systems for connection to IBM:

    DECnet/SNA Gateway (DECSA)
    DEC MicroServer (DEMSA)
    DEC ChannelServer (DESNA)

    and a suitably configured VMS system to act as load host for the 
    DECnet/SNA Gateway

or:

(B) For single VAX system connection to IBM: 

    Synchronous Communications Interface appropriate to VAX Processor used.

CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT

This layered product is fully supported when installed on any valid and
licensed VAXcluster* configuration without restrictions. The HARDWARE 
REQUIREMENTS sections of this product's Software Product Description and 
System Support Addendum detail any special hardware required by this product.

*   V5.x VAXcluster configurations are fully described in the VAXcluster 
    Software Product Description  (SPD 29.78.xx) and include CI, Ethernet and 
    Mixed Interconnect configurations.
