          DIGITAL is pleased to announce VAX Decision Expert
          for VMS software Version 1.0. This release requires
          the installation of VMS Version 5.2 or later. It also
          requires the VMS DECwindows desktop environment. Refer
          to Release Notes for VAX Decision Expert for VMS V1.0
          for other specific requirements. The current supplied
          version of Version 1.0 is Version 1.0-B. Version 1.0-B
          of VAX Decision Expert for VMS is a maintenance release
          of the software. It fixes several problems in Version
          1.0 that were consistently reported by our customers.
          Version 1.0-B includes a change to the media. Version
          1.0-A did not include a media update. Version 1.0-B
          is fully upward and backward compatible with Version
          1.0. Knowledge bases built with either version of the
          software will work with either version.

          Documentation

          Documentation for VAX Decision Expert for VMS Version
          1.0 includes the following items:

          o  The VAX Decision Expert User Manual for Version
             1.0, which describes the features, concepts, and
             procedures users need in order to build applications
             using VAX Decision Expert for VMS software.

          o  The VAX Decision Expert Reference Manual for Version
             1.0, which describes:

             -  Commands used with the entry screen

             -  Commands for editing tables and trees

             -  The utility language

             -  Commands for window manipulation

             -  Related DCL functions

          o  The VAX Decision Expert Installation Guide, which
             tells how to install and verify the VAX Decision
             Expert for VMS software.

          o  The VAX Decision Expert Reference Card, which gives
             a listing of all the commands and keys used during
             application development.

          o  The Release Notes for VAX Decision Expert for VMS
             V1.0, which describe restrictions and changes in the
             software and documentation.

          Installation

          Installation of VAX Decision Expert for VMS Version 1.0
          requires that your system be running VMS Version 5.2 or
          later and VMS DECwindows. If you are running an earlier
          version of VMS, you need to update it.
