The VAX processor must be physically connected to either an HSC40 or HSC70 to provide a data path through the TC44-AA/BA controller boards for tape cartridge read and write functions. Processor Restrictions: A TK50 or 9-track 1600 BPI Magtape (PE) Tape Drive is required for DCSC installation. A connection to a HSC40 or HSC70 is required for cartridge read/write operations. An Ethernet connection is required for each processor that uses the DCSC. That processor must support the Ethernet boards supported by Version 1.3 of the VMS/ULTRIX Connection software. Other Hardware Required: TC44-AA/BA Digital Equipment Corporation VT220, VT240, VT320, or VT340 terminal to use the DCSC utilities and user interface. Disk Space Requirements (Block Cluster Size = 1): 2 Digital Cartridge Server Component SSA 33.59.00-A for VMS, Version 1.0 The following counts refer to the disk space required on the system disk. The sizes are approximate; actual sizes may vary depending on the user's system environment, configuration, and software options. Disk space required for 9,000 blocks installation: (4.61 Mbytes) Disk space required for 8,000 blocks use (permanent): (4.10 Mbytes) The minimum memory supported is 32 Mbytes. However, increasing the memory capability improves the performance of this software. The memory size suggested for most typical hardware configura- tions is at least 32 Mbytes. CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT This layered product is fully supported when installed on any valid and licensed VAXcluster* configuration without restric- tions.
