           Read Before Installing or Using the CDA Converter
          Library Version 1.1

          The CDA Converter Library Version 1.1 provides an ex-
          tended set of supported formats to the file conversion
          and viewing capabilities provided as part of VMS Ver-
          sion 5.3, ULTRIX Version 3.1, and UWS Version 2.2. The
          supported formats are text, graphics, image, and table
          data.

          Whether you are a new or a continuing CDA customer,
          please take time to read the following information
          about the CDA Converter Library Version 1.1.

          Installation Information

          The CDA Converter Library Version 1.1 requires one of
          the following:

          o  VMS Version 5.3 or higher and the DECwindows Compute
             Server

          o  ULTRIX Version 3.1 or higher

          o  UWS Version 2.2 or higher

          Before you install the CDA Converter Library Version
          1.1 on VMS, you must register the product using the
          Product Authorization Key (PAK) provided in the kit.
          See the VMS License Management Utility Manual for
          registration instructions.

          Release Notes Information

          The release notes for the CDA Converter Library Version
          1.1 contain important installation-related instruc-
          tions, known problems, documentation errors, restric-
          tions, and incompatibilities.

          You can read the release notes before installing the
          CDA Converter Library on VMS by invoking VMSINSTAL
          with the release notes option, N, and following the
          instructions that start the installation procedure.
          You can also read the release notes following the
          installation of the CDA Converter Library on VMS by
          typing or printing the following file.

                SYS$HELP:CDACVTLIB011.RELEASE_NOTES

          To read the release notes after the CDA Converter
          Library is installed on ULTRIX-32 (VAX) or ULTRIX-32
          (RISC), display or print the following file.

                /usr/doc/cdrbase_011.release_notes

          Contents of This Kit

          o  Indented Bill Report (BIL) and Bill of Materials
             (BOM)

             Please read the BIL and BOM enclosed in this kit and
             check to see that all items listed are actually in
             your kit. If your kit is damaged or any items are
             missing, call your Digital representative.

          o  Media

             If you ordered media, you will find the media and
             the CDA Converter Library Installation Guide in this
             kit. Consult the CDA Converter Library Installation
             Guide for information about installing the CDA
             Converter Library on your system.

          o  Documentation

             Depending on your order, this kit may include copies
             of the following CDA Converter Library documenta-
             tion:

             Note that the CDA Converter Library Installation
             Guide is included with the media.

          o  Product Authorization Key (PAK)

             The PAK contains information necessary to register
             the CDA Converter Library before you install it on a
             VMS system.

          o  Software Product Description (SPD)

             The SPD provides an overview of the CDA Converter
             Library kit and its features.

          o  Software Performance Report (SPR)

             Use this form to report any problems with the CDA
             Converter Library, provided you have purchased
             warranty services.

          o  Software Installation Survey Card

             By completing this card after you install the CDA
             Converter Library, you provide valuable feedback
             to Digital on installation quality. Your feedback
             helps us understand customer needs and improve our
             products.
