The sizes are approximate; actual sizes may vary depending on the user's system environment, configuration, and software options. Memory Requirements for DECwindows Support 2 VAX APL, Version 4.0 SSA 25.31.11-A The minimum supported memory for this application running in a standalone DECwindows environment with both the client and server executing on the same system is 10 MB. The minimum memory support is 10 MB. However, the use of this software in conjunction with increased memory capability im- proves performance especially where large data arrays are being processed. The memory size suggested for most typi- cal hardware configurations is at least 16 MB. OPTIONAL HARDWARE Floating point intensive applications should be run on con- figurations with the appropriate hardware support for the floating point data types being used. Consult the Base Op- erating System SPD for the Floating Point Accelerator or other floating point hardware appropriate for the configuration. For VAX APL HPO (High Performance Option): Any VAX that can support the Vector Processor Module FV64A-AA/FV65A-AA for VAX 6000 and KV900-AA for the VAX 9000. 3 VAX APL, Version 4.0 SSA 25.31.11-A Terminal Support VAX APL supports the APL character set on the following ter- minals: o VT320 o VT330 o VT340 o VT220 o VT240 o VAXstation CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT This layered product is fully supported when installed on any valid and licensed VAXcluster* configuration without re- strictions. The HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS sections of this prod- uct's Software Product Description and System Support Ad- dendum detail any special hardware required by this prod- uct. * V5.x VAXcluster configurations are fully described in the VAXcluster Software Product Description (29.78.xx) and include CI, Ethernet and Mixed Interconnect configura- tions.
