See the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation for instructions on printing the Release Notes. 4 Software Licensing A Service Update Product Authorization Key (PAK) for ALL-IN-1 is supplied with ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 update kits only. If your kit is an update kit, register the Service Update PAK supplied with that kit. If your ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 kit is not an update kit, a full PAK is supplied with the kit. Register this PAK. If you obtained an ALL-IN-1 license for ALL-IN-1 Version 2.3, then register the PAK you obtained with that license. You must register and load the appropriate PAK before you install ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 (see the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation). An additional installation option registers the PAK information for the following products (see the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide for details): _ VAX FMS Version 2.4 _ Message Router Version 3.1 _ Message Router VMSmail Gateway Version 3.1 _ CDA Converter Library Version 1.0 _ VAX Notes Version 2.0 VAX Notes Licenses VAX Notes Version 2.0 and Version 2.1 supports the License Management Facility (LMF) features provided by VMS (Version 5.0 and higher), and requires that a Product Authorization Key (PAK) be registered. The license registration information you need is contained in the PAK that is shipped with VAX Notes, and in the VAX Notes Installation Guide. 5 There are three kinds of licenses for VAX Notes: NOTES, NOTES-USER, and NOTES-CLIENT. The NOTES and NOTES-USER licenses have full functionality; the only difference is that the NOTES-USER license permits only a specified maximum number of users to use VAX Notes at any one time, whereas the NOTES license does not set a limit. The NOTES-CLIENT license does not have full functionality. It allows users to access only remote conferences; they cannot create or access local conferences. The NOTES-CLIENT license does not restrict the number of users. You must register and load your license for VAX Notes before you start the installation in order to run the Installation Verification Procedure (IVP) and use the software. Additional Release Notes for ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 The following sections describe additional Release Notes for ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 and ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 Group Conferencing. Known Software Problems and Restrictions CDA Installation If you want CDA support with ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4, you must install both the DECwindows base kit and the DECwindows Application Files before you install CDA. ALL-IN-1 Installation The OA$DATA_SHARE:CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT file is not updated to the new ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 format, if you are performing one of the following installations: _ Upgrade from ALL-IN-1 Version 2.3 _ Upgrade of an ALL-IN-1 Version 2.3 additional language _ Upgrade from ALL-IN-1 STARTER Version 1.0 _ Upgrade of an ALL-IN-1 STARTER Version 1.0 additional language _ An additional language installation on a new ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 system 6 _ An update installation, if you have not already updated OA$DATA_SHARE:CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT _ An update from ALL-IN-1 STARTER Version 2.4, if you upgraded to ALL-IN-1 STARTER Version 2.4 from ALL-IN-1 STARTER Version 1.0 _ An additional language update installation, if you have not already updated on OA$DATA_SHARE:CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT Therefore, to update OA$DATA_SHARE:CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT, do the following: 1 Log in to the ALL-IN-1 manager's VMS account. 2 Set the default directory to OA$DATA_SHARE: 3 Copy CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT to CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.SAV 4 If your ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 kit is on tape, do the following: a Mount the tape labeled A1Llanguage024 on a tape drive (for example MTA0:), where language is the language component for which you are doing the update. b Copy the file CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT from the tape: $ BACKUP/LOG A1LENGLISH024.D/SAVE/SELECT=CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT CM_SDC.NEW If your ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 kit is on disk, copy the file CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT from the save set A1Llanguage024.D, as follows: $ BACKUP/LOG device:[directory]A1Llanguage024.D/SAVE - _$ /SELECT=CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT CM_SDC.NEW where device:[directory] is the location of the save set. 5 Enter the following commands to suppress warnings of duplicate records during the update: 7 $ SAVED_MESSAGE = F$ENVIRONMENT("MESSAGE") $ SET MESSAGE/NOFACILITY/NOSEVERITY/NOIDENTITY/NOTEXT 6 Enter the following commands: $ CONVERT/MERGE/NOEXIT CM_SDC.NEW CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT $ SET MESSAGE 'SAVED_MESSAGE' $ DELETE/NOLOG CM_SDC.NEW;* 7 Check the CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT file to ensure that it is updated correctly, as follows: a Log in to the ALL-IN-1 manager's ALL-IN-1 account: $ ALLIN1/USER=MANAGER b Enter CM ADE. The Access DIGITAL Elements menu is displayed. c Press SELECT. d Enter GENERAL_JS in the Name field, then press FIND. (If you have more than one language component installed, a list of elements is displayed. Select the element that has the language name you specified in the save set name in step 4.) ALL-IN-1 should display the following: Name: GENERAL_JS_ERROR Type: SCP Language: is the name of the language that the element is in. e Clear the three fields, and enter OA$CDA in the Name field, then press FIND. ALL-IN-1 should display the following: 8 Name: OA$CDA_STARTUP Type: COM Language: SHARE 8 If the new CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT file is updated correctly, delete the file CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.SAV. Otherwise, copy the CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.SAV file back to CM_SDC_ELEMENTS.DAT, and start again. 9 Repeat steps 3 to 8 for each language component installed on your system. ALL-IN-1 Management _ When you use the option MGT MUA CTN (Cancel network transfers) an index of the accounts to be transferred is displayed. You can then select one or more accounts from the index, for which the transfer is to be cancelled. If you use the multiple option XCAN to cancel the transfer of more than one account, the shared documents for the first account only are fully restored. The shared documents for the remaining accounts are not replaced. Workaround: Move the script MUA_CTN_RESTORE_DOCS.SCP to the development area using Customisation Management, and edit the script as follows: 1 Change the line GET #SAVESET = 0 to read GET #CUR_SAVESET = 0 This ensures that the saveset number is reset to zero each time an account is processed, so that the savesets associated with that account are restored when the Cancel network transfer option is used. 2 Enter CM MLA to mark the element to be moved to the live area. 9 3 Enter MGT CSZ PME (Process marked elements). The modified script is moved to the live area. _ Moving User Accounts When you enter MGT MUA MDK, or SA MUA MDK (Move account to another disk) the following error message is written to the log file: Symbol #DIRECT . . . not found If you are moving an ALL-IN-1 account that shares the same root directory as another ALL-IN-1 account, the files for both accounts are moved. For example, if two accounts, USER1 and USER2, share the same VMS root directory DEV1:[SHARED], their ALL-IN-1 subdirectories might be: DEV1:[SHARE.USER1.A1] DEV1:[SHARE.USER2.A1] When you elect to move the account of USER1 to another disk, the files for both USER1 and USER2 are moved to the new directory DEV2:[SHARED]. Workaround: 1 Move the script OA$LIB_SHARE:SM_MOVEDISK.SCP to the development area using Customization Management, and edit the script to change: for profil:vmsusr with .vmsusr eqs #vms_user do - get #direct = .direct - get #logical = oa$dir_parse.dir[#direct] - do sm_xlate_device - .if #xlated eqs #source_dev then - compute #share_count = #share_count + 1 10 to the following: for profil:vmsusr with .vmsusr eqs #vms_user do - get #direct = .direct \\ - get #logical = oa$dir_parse.dir[#direct] \\ - do sm_xlate_device \\ - .if #xlated eqs #source_dev then - compute #share_count = #share_count + 1 2 Enter CM MLA to mark the element to be moved to the live area. 3 Enter MGT CSZ PME (Process marked elements). The modified script is moved to the live area. Note that when you move a user account, a mail message stating, incorrectly, that the operation has failed is sent to the ALL-IN-1 account from which the operation was performed. The operation has not failed. The message is produced because the disk quota for the user's VMS account has not been set up on the new disk. Use the DISKQUOTA utility to set up the disk quota for the user's VMS account on the new disk.
