ALL-IN-1 V2.4 Consolidated Software Distribution PREVIEW Introduction This document is for the person responsible for installing the ALL-IN-1 software from Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk. It describes: o What your ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 Consolidated Distribution kit contains. o Where to find installation information. o Additional information specific to installing from the Consolidated Distribution kit. o Gives a correction to the ALL-IN-1 Installation guide Part 1. Note: Information in this document corrects information given in Section 1.1.2 and A.2 Compact Disk Consolidated Distribution kits described in the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation. The ALL-IN-1 READ ME FIRST and Release Notes contain further information about installation. Before you start installation, print the READ ME FIRST and Release Notes (see the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation) and read the section on installation. The ALL-IN-1 Release Notes also contain the release notes for ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 Group Conferencing. CAUTION: If you are running ASSETS packages with ALL-IN-1 you must contact your local software services representative 1 before installing ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 to determine whether or not your versions of the ASSETS packages work with ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4. If you are running third party software with ALL-IN-1 you must contact the software vendor to determine whether or not the software will work with ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4. Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk kit Contents The Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk contains all the layered product kits required to install and run ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4. Some exist in the ALL-IN-1 market specific directory area and most of the other prerequisite or optional layered products are available from their normal directory locations on the Compact Disk. The ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 directory The ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 directory contains the following core set of kits required to install and run ALL-IN-1. o ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 o WPS-PLUS Version 3.1 o ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 Group Conferencing o CDA Patch Kit for VMS Version 5.3 - Use with VMS 5.3 only o Message Router Version 3.1B o Message Router VMSmail Gateway Version 3.1 Other ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 prerequisite or optional products The following prerequisite or optional products required to run ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 are available from their normal directory area on the Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk: o VAX FMS Version 2.4 o CDA Converter Library Version 1.0 - Use with VMS 5.1 or VMS 5.2 2 o CDA Converter Library Version 1.1 - Use with VMS 5.3 or Higher o VAX Notes Version 2.0 - Use with VMS 5.1 or VMS 5.2 o VAX Notes Version 2.1 - Use with VMS 5.3 or Higher Note: Refer to the documentation supplied with the Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk for details on how to get access to these kits. CAUTION: The Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk may contain later versions of some layered products than are currently supported with ALL-IN-1 . You should check the System Support Addendum, included with the product on this Compact Disk, before installing ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4, if you wish to install any prerequisite or optional products versions which are later than described here. This is to determine whether or not these later versions work with ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4. ALL-IN-1 Documentation on Consolidated Distribution The following documentation is also included on the Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk: o A Read Me First o The ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation o The ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 2 Language Installation, for the language component supplied with your kit. o The ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 3 Market Installation, for the market component supplied with your kit. o The ALL-IN-1 Installation Group Conferencing Installation Guide, for any market or language supplied with your kit. o A Software Product Description (SPD) o A System Support Addendum (SSA) o A Software Warranty Addendum (SWA) 3 Packaging of ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 is an international product and consists of the following components: o An international base component, which provides the functions that are common to all ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 systems. o A language component, which provides the ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 language-specific features. For example, User Interface features. o A market component, which provides features that are specific to a given market. For example, keyboard and modem support. The ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide is in three parts: o ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation This part describes how to install ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4. Although it is a large book, you need only refer to the chapters relating to the type of installation that you are going to perform. 4 o ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 2 Language Installation This part contains information specific to the language that you are installing; a version is supplied with each language component. Refer to this part as indicated in the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation. o ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 3 Market Installation This part contains information specific to your market component. Refer to this part as indicated in the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation. The Release Notes are in two parts: _ Release Notes Part 1 Language This part contains release notes specific to the base component and language component that you are going to install, and is supplied with the language component of your kit. _ Release Notes Part 2 Market This part contains release notes specific to your market component, and is supplied with the market component of you kit. (Note that this document may not exist for all market components.) 5 Software Licensing You must register and load the appropriate PAK before you install ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 (see the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation and the Release Notes) for more information. An additional ALL-IN-1 installation option registers the PAK information for the following products (see the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide for more details): _ VAX FMS Version 2.4 _ Message Router Version 3.1B _ Message Router VMSmail Gateway Version 3.1 _ CDA Converter Library Version 1.0 or higher _ VAX Notes Version 2.0 or higher VAX Notes Licenses There are three kinds of licenses for VAX Notes: NOTES, NOTES-USER, and NOTES-CLIENT. The NOTES and NOTES-USER licenses have full functionality; the only difference is that the NOTES-USER license permits only a specified maximum number of users to use VAX Notes at any one time, whereas the NOTES license does not set a limit. The NOTES-CLIENT license does not have full functionality. It allows users to access only remote conferences; they cannot create or access local conferences. The NOTES-CLIENT license does not restrict the number of users. You must register and load your license for VAX Notes before you start the installation in order to run the Installation Verification Procedure (IVP) and use the software. 6 Installation Order Refer to the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide Part 1 Base Installation and the Release Notes) for more information. 7 Consolidated Distribution Compact Disk kits The Consolidated Distribution compact Disk for your market contains directories of the form [A1lang024], where lang is the ALL-IN-1 language available to you. For example, [A1ENGLISH024]. This directory contains three subdirectories: one containing the savesets for the ALL-IN-1 Version 2.4 kit, and two others containing various documentation (in ASCII text and PostScript format). All the savesets required to install the base, language, and market components for your kit are in the directory [A1lang024.KIT]. The documentation is in the directories [A1lang024.LINE_DOCS] and [A1lang024.POSTSCRIPT_DOCS].
